Sabra, is a Seattle pharmacist and Tik Tok influencer who is being lauded for a response she gave a mother who tried to take her first-class seat away.
The pharmacist said that she was traveling on a 13 plus hour flight to Paris and this was her first time flying first class internationally.
“I often get upgraded to first class on domestic flights thanks to my Delta status but this was my first time flying first class internationally where you get the ‘real’ business class experience. So that was one of the reasons why I was particularly excited about this flight and the seat that I had purchased and picked in advance,” she told Buzzfeed.
“The gate agent called my name before boarding. They were nice and asked me if I was willing to switch seats. I asked to see the alternative on the seat map. It was still first class but all the way in the back. I kindly said that I’d rather keep the seat I selected and she didn’t insist. They went ahead and found another resolution pretty quickly,” she explained.
Sabra said the airline didn’t offer concessions to switch seats but she also doesn’t think asking something like this is wrong as long as the airline — or the person asking — is okay with people saying no. “In this particular instance, it seemed to be an airline issue and not the parent’s poor planning.”
To be clear the child was still sitting in first class just not as close as the parent would like.
To document the incident on social media 6-second video, captioned “POV: Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child sits with their family,” shows her lounging on her first class seat, while a popular TikTok audio drop — “Girl, f – – k them kids and f – – k you too” — played in the background.
