Actress Does A 180 After Backlash Over Comments

In a surprising turn of events, Disney actress Rachel Zegler, known for her vocal left-wing activism, recently expressed her admiration for the original 1937 animated film “Snow White.”

In an interview for Variety with fellow Disney actress Halle Bailey, Zegler praised the Disney classic as “a monumental moment in film history,” and credited it for the success of Disney as a company.

This comes as a sharp contrast to Zegler’s previous comments about the film, in which she stated that she had only watched it once as a child and found it off-putting. She also made it clear that the new live-action remake, in which she will play the lead role of Snow White, will not focus on the traditional themes of true love and a prince saving the princess.

“It’s no longer 1937, and we absolutely wrote a ‘Snow White’ – she’s not going to be saved by a prince!” Zegler said. “And she’s not gonna be dreaming about true love.”

This statement caused quite a buzz among fans of the original film, who criticized Zegler for her comments. Disney, on the other hand, seemed to distance itself from the actress, as they announced their own live-action remake of “Snow White” would not be released until 2023, a year later than originally planned.

However, when news broke of The Daily Wire/Bentkey’s own live-action adaptation of “Snow White,” titled “Snow White and the Evil Queen,” set to be released in 2024 and starring actress and Daily Wire host Brett Cooper, Zegler’s tune seemed to change.

In a recent Variety interview, Zegler praised the original film as a “monumental moment in film history” and said she “loves everything the Disney company has put out” since its inception.

This sudden shift in Zegler’s attitude towards “Snow White” comes as no surprise to some, as it coincides with Disney’s decision to push back the release of its remake. Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing believes this delay may be due to Disney reshooting large parts of the film to make it more faithful to the classic version.

Despite the controversy surrounding Zegler’s past comments, fans of the original “Snow White” are excited for the upcoming live-action adaptations, although they may now be curious to see how the actress and Disney will handle their previous denouncements of the traditional elements of the story.

It remains to be seen how Zegler will approach her role as Snow White in the upcoming remake, and whether her newfound admiration for the original film will be reflected in the new adaptation. But one thing is for sure, the fierce debate over the timeless fairy tale of “Snow White” is far from over.
