More Explosive Allegations In ‘Blind Side’ Legal Drama, Thing Are Getting Ugly

There’s a lot of back and forth going on between Michael Oher and the Tuohy family and it’s getting ugly.

An attorney who is representing Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy has made some shocking allegations.

According to Marty Singer, a well-known California attorney, denied the claims Oher has made against his clients.

“Anyone with a modicum of common sense can see that the outlandish claims made by Michael Oher about the Tuohy family are hurtful and absurd. The idea that the Tuohys have ever sought to profit off Mr. Oher is not only offensive, it is transparently ridiculous,” he said.

Singer added, “Through hard work and good fortune, Sean and Leigh Anne have made an extraordinary amount of money in the restaurant business. The notion that a couple worth hundreds of millions of dollars would connive to withhold a few thousand dollars in profit participation payments from anyone — let alone from someone they loved as a son — defies belief.”

The California lawyer also made a bombshell allegation claiming Oher threaten the Tuohys claiming he would “plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million.”

Singer also refuted claims that Oher was not paid his fair share from the profits of the blockbuster movie which grossed around $300 million.

“When Michael Lewis, a friend of Sean’s since childhood, was approached about turning his book on Mr. Oher and the Tuohys into a movie about their family, his agents negotiated a deal where they received a small advance from the production company and a tiny percentage of net profits. They insisted that any money received be divided equally. And they have made good on that pledge,” said Singer.

In a petition filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, Oher is alleging that the Tuohys used their conservatorship to make millions of dollars off of the royalties from the movie.

“The lie of Michael’s adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward [Oher],” the petition said. “Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys.”

The Tuohys have claimed that because the NCAA did not want Oher living with him and he was over 18, a conservatorship was the only path to make him part of the family.
