Just When You Thought Learning How to Drive Couldn’t Get Any More Dangerous
A driver in Colorado tried what can only be described as a daring move on Tuesday: they drove straight into a driving school. Yes, you read that correctly – and yes, this kind of thing really does happen!
It all went down outside of Community Driving School on Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood, where an instructor (or, at least, someone affiliated with the school) pulled up to the building, apparently thinking that parking their Hyundai Tucson outside was a good idea – albeit a very ill-fated one.
As undoubtedly the most unsuccessful parking job ever, the misadventure seems to have ended with the vehicle completely smashing into the building’s front window, leaving shattered glass and broken bricks in its wake.
Oh, and did I mention that there was a minor injury as a result? It’s a miracle that everyone was able to dive out of harm’s way in time.
In a case of irony that could only be rivaled by the ironic mustache of your literary professor, we’re left asking ourselves: how does someone drive a car into a building without somehow managing to make it part of their lesson plan?
Lakewood Police wasted no time in responding to the incident. They quickly took to social media to share a picture of the crash, while noting that the driver was ticketed for their traffic violation. It turns out that the driver/instructor had only just been hired, but wasn’t certified to teach any courses yet. Seeing as the car they were driving was their own, thankfully no one else was in the vehicle during the incident.
Unsurprisingly, social media users had a field day with the unusual mishap, dubbing it the newest form of “driving” and joking that it should be part of anyone’s education on how to operate a vehicle. As always, good humour reigns on the interwebs!
Thankfully there was only one minor injury. Several people were able to dive out of harms way. The driver, an instructor at the business, was cited for a traffic violation. pic.twitter.com/tJcWTWqfmO
